They might even add more.įor the sake of new people getting into the Crossbell series, I hope they do check stuff like the gallery posted above and at least fix the most egregious and plain wrong translations. These ports are great news for normies who were generally ignorant of the Crossbell games or the fan patch, or perhaps couldn't get it working for whatever reason, but if you were aware of the patch and steered clear for other reasons, I personally doubt that NISA are going to be the ones to fix all the problems some people had with it. I think you guys are in for some disappointment if you've got the impression that NISA are any less inclined towards 'creative' - and sometimes plain shoddy - translations than Geofront. I agree that NISA should make a public statement that commits to fixing the Geofront translation.Īlthough in that statement, I'd hope they would say something like: "we promise to translate all of the words in the script as faithfully and accurately as possible." And also the inaccurate "spice things up" text. Hopefully NISA fixes all of those errors, and any others that also exist. It's so great that it should be put into a Sticky thread right at the top of this board, lest those problems get forgotten or overlooked. That link contains some prime AAA-grade research. Originally posted by Shylaar:This imgur album has several examples: Assuming they actually intend to do so, anyway. I don't think it's unreasonable for NISA to say "we're going to do another pass of the script to make sure it's what you'd expect of an official release" or something. So yeah, Geofront's script is in some ways the worst of both worlds, having both rewrites to "spice things up" while also failing to fix what Guren got wrong the first time. Except Geofront didn't seem to have the capability to check the translation, instead focusing on just presenting it better in English, because translation errors present in Guren's version were cleaned up in Geofront's version while still retaining the same mistranslations. Which is kind of why Geofront's patch happened to begin with. The other half is that Geofront's patch was based on Guren's old patch, which was an incredibly rough patch that severely lacked both TLC and editing. Yeah, that's a problem, but the thing is that those deliberate changes are only one half of it.
